2.0.1 Top-charging coke oven

It is referred to the coke oven for which the coal charge is fed through the charging hole on oven top into coking chamber.

2.0.2 Stamp-charging coke oven

It is referred to the coke oven for which the coal charge is stamped into coal cake by stamping machine and then pushed from pusher side into coking chamber.

2.0.3 Coal charge

It is referred to the coal to be charged into coke oven for cokemaking after various grades of coal are blended, crushed and mixed.

2.0.4 Coke dry quenching

It is referred to the technology to cool down hot coke with inert gas.

2.0.5 Fineness of coal charge

It is referred to an index measuring the crushing degree of coal charge, indicated by weight percent of coal grain size 0-3mm over the total coal charge.

2.0.6 Low calorific value of gas

It is referred to the heat released from complete combustion per unit volume of gas when the water,as a combustion product, stays at gaseous state.

2.0.7 Mixed gas

It is referred to the low calorific value mixed fuel gas of small amount of coke oven gas blended with blast furnace gas for coke oven heating.

2.0.8 Gross coking time

It is referred to the time interval between two pushes(or charges)for the same coking chamber during coke oven operation.

2.0.9 Bulk density of coal charge

It is referred to the mass per unit volume of coal charge in the coking chamber.

2.0.10 Density of coal cake

It is referred to the mass per unit volume of coal cake.

2.0.11 Coke yield

It is referred to the weight percent of coke produced(on dry basis)under coke oven carbonization in amount of coal charge(on dry basis).

2.0.12 Metallurgical coke yield

It is referred to the weight percentage of the coke with grain size bigger than 25mm in total coke.

2.0.13 Heat consumption for coking

It is referred to the heat required for coke oven to carbonize 1kg coal charge into coke.

2.0.14 Heat consumption for wet coal

It is referred to the heat required for coke oven to carbonize 1kg wet coal charge into coke.

2.0.15 Equivalent heat consumption for dry coal

It is referred to the heat required for coke oven to carbonize wet coal charge equivalent to 1kg dry coal into coke.

2.0.16 Ultimate side load of heating wall

It is referred to the maximum value of combustion chamber heating wall withstanding lateral pressure.

2.0.17 Lean gas

It is referred to the low calorific value gas for coke oven heating, such as blast furnace gas, generator gas and mixed gas,etc..

2.0.18 Coke oven machinery

It is referred to the general name of special equipment for cokemaking operation.

2.0.19 Ratio between height and diameter of C.D.Q chamber

It is referred to the ratio between equivalent height and inner diameter of the C.D.Q cooling chamber.
